Is 16 years old too young for Botox?
3/9/2010 5:42:17 PM

Would you allow a child of 16 years to get botox?

Recently Sarah Burge admitted to administering Botox injections to her 16-year-old daughter who is believed to be Britain's youngest Botox user. Not even old enough to drink or drive Hannah Burge received her first Botox injection - with her mother's consent- at the tender age of 15 while on holiday.

In the
Daily Mail Sarah claimed it was to prevent wrinkles forming and that there were worse things her child could be doing. However, it's a shocking revelation for many of us, most teenagers we know are just starting to experiment with make-up and face creams let alone injectable fillers used to relax muscles and iron out fine lines. Maybe airbrushed magazine covers, ageless celebrities and the rise in cosmetic surgery will lead to ‘Teen Toxing' becoming a trend on the high street. A worrying thought.

Would you recommend Botox to a 16-year-old who wanted to prevent ageing?

1: Skin sin: Chopping and changing products
5/19/2009 4:11:15 PM

According to research from skincare brand RoC, British women waste £400 million on unfinished products each year - many switching to new beauty buys after around five uses. But changing formulas too often can result in a dull and sensitive complexion.

Solve it: Play the waiting game
Stick to one regime for at least five weeks (unless your complexion shows signs of irritation). This is how long it takes new skin cells to rise to the surface and reflect the product’s efficiency.

The Bare Truth: Hair Removal Techniques
4/30/2009 4:57:16 PM

As it starts to get warmer out, we may be showing a lot more skin. Showing this skin means making sure said flesh is smooth and silky. (What man wants to be caressing your thigh and hit stubble? Exactly.)

However, how you remove your hair is up to you! There’s many options.
These include:

Shaving
It’s the old, affordable, standby. You can buy a disposable razor for under $10, and take care of business yourself in the shower. Then again, you may also get nicks and blood shed…way less attractive!

Laser on, Laser off
Many girls will try bikin waxes, do some sugaring, and ultimately decide on a more permanent solution. (No, not death.)
Laser hair removal is a growing trend in annihilating unwanted hair, especially in the bikini area, and the procedure has improved recently:
When you want to take it off, there are lots of options.
It’s pretty high tech: Laser works via pulsed light and RF energy that petrify active hair follicles. Since hair follicles grow and regrow in a cycle and only growing follicles are affected by treatment, even the most sophisticated laser hair removal treatments require multiple sessions to ensure full effectiveness. Usually you go about once a month for 6-8 sessions, but it varies from case to case.

Wax It Off!
Laser isn’t for everyone though, and many have found happiness with waxing.
We all know though that some degree of pain will be a part of the game. “Many new improved waxing techniques have been introduced that reduce client discomfort and prolong results,” says skin expert Annet King. Look for a skin therapist that has been trained in a technique called “Original Speed Waxing.” Speed Waxing involves a unique application and removal method that saves time and minimizes discomfort by using specially cut strips of cotton pellon for faster depilation with less hair breakage.
No matter where you wax, be sure your skin is prepared.

Waxing Legs
“If choosing the waxing option, try not to shave in between sessions, it is very difficult to wax stubble caused by shaving and hair needs to grow to a certain length to wax all hair evenly. Exfoliating with loofah or body scrub in circular motion going upward away from hair growth helps prevent ingrown hair and leaves skin smooth — exfoliate at least 2-3 times a week

Try Some Sugar
Perhaps you want a little…sugar. Sugaring is an ancient method of hair removal, dating back to the Greeks and the Egyptians. It is similar to waxing, but is considered gentler and less painful, and provides instantaneous results.

Beauty Secrets - Nails
4/19/2009 12:04:57 AM

When nails split and snap it usually means they are dry – exacerbated by cold weather or too much time immersed in water. Regular manicures do stop them breaking, especially if they are kept short and square, because the care and consistency in length builds up strength. Nightly application of hand cream helps too. Shorter nails look best with the darker colours on them – the hippest shades are currently dark purple, charcoal and chocolate.

With an express manicure starting as little as £15.00, its just as easy to keep up with the latest colour's whilst ensuring your talons stay in tip-top condition
Please see the Manicure & Pedicure section, along with BioSculpture Nails (In Nail Enhancements) for details on all our hand and foot treats!
All SpaRitual products used in the treatments are available for purchase, allowing you to continue to pampering yourself long after your treatment has finished
